Having a V8 configuration, the 5.7 L HEMI engine produces a maximum of 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. This eight-cylinder engine is powerful enough to handle a trailer that weighs up to 7,400 pounds. Having a 50/50 weight distribution, the Durango maintains its balance even while towing a heavy load. Controlled by an electronic rotary dial, an eight-speed automatic transmission system makes it easy to handle this Dodge SUV. Under the hood of the Dodge Grand Caravan is the 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine that offers up to 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Regular unleaded gasoline or E85 fuel power this efficient engine. You may also push the ECON button to optimize fuel economy according to driving conditions. This efficient minivan is strong enough to tow a 3,600-pound trailer. Both of these Dodge models come with the Trailer Sway Control technology that lowers the risk of swerving and erratic maneuvers.
Interior
The Dodge Durango is available with an eight-way power driver’s seat and four-way front passenger’s seat. Both of these ergonomic seats include side bolsters and contours. Wrapped in genuine Nappa leather upholstery with perforations, these premium seats also come with heating and ventilation. The central console in the second row includes multiple vents that release cool air at the passengers. Installed in the Durango and Grand Caravan, an automatic climate control system with three zones keeps all of the passengers comfortable in any season. The Uconnect 8.4 NAV infotainment system is available in the Dodge Durango. An 8.4-inch touch screen clearly shows you directions on a GPS navigation system. You also have live access to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link feeds. An optional Wi-Fi connection can be delivered through the Uconnect suite. Compatible with Blu-ray discs and DVDs, the vehicle’s rear entertainment system includes dual 9-inch monitors. Similarly, the Dodge Grand Caravan has an entertainment system with a flip-down screen that’s connected to a DVD player. This minivan offers the Radio 430N system that includes a 6.5-inch touch screen. Both Dodge models are connected to more than 130 SiriusXM Satellite Radio channels. USB ports, auxiliary jacks and wireless Bluetooth are some other connectivity amenities in these family-friendly vehicles.
